Researchers propose that social class can be studied as its own distinct form of culture. As such, we propose that similar to past findings on how there are cultural differences in lay beliefs, social class should also have an influence on our lay beliefs. We also propose a theoretical model in which social class may influence our lay beliefs through SDO and PRD. In Study 1, we examine the influence of social class on lay beliefs. We found support for our model and we were able to replicate these results in a large-scale pre-registered study. In Study 2 and 3 we aim to establish the causal direction of the relationship between social class and lay beliefs.
