This paper presents an analysis of the Knowledge Base for Teaching of training teachers in undergraduate courses, pre-service teacher education and bachelor’s degree, to teach the concepts of Descriptive Statistics. It is problematized how this Base in Higher Education Institutions of the state of Paraná, Brazil, is configured. The theoretical assumptions that underlie the research that originated this work are supported by Shulman (1986, 1987) and Grossman (1990) about the knowledge necessary for teaching performance.
