Counseling: An Evaluation of the Services Offered to Young Business Women in the Residences Maintained by the Dominican Congregation of Saint Catherine De’ Ricci in Philadelphia (1901—1964)

The Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine de’ Ricci have been offering young women accommodations conducive to wholesome living in center city areas for well over fifty years. Their tireless, unselfish efforts have been successful in providing a safe home for young employed women as well as retired ladies. Focus during these years centered around the need for a comfortable, friendly home where the Sisters shared a personal interest in each boarder. At present, we are interested in re-evaluating our service in view of the emphasis placed upon the role of the young woman living in the residences we operate so as to provide more adequately for her present day needs. Through the grace of God, the co-operation of our Sisters, and intensive research, I hope to propose a meaningful program of spiritual, intellectual, moral and social value
