The majority of reserves of small oil companies of the Republic of Tatarstan are represented by carbonate reservoirs with low filtration and capacitance properties, low reservoir pressures and high oil viscosity. All this leads to a rapid decrease and a low level of current oil flows. The Akan oil field of Predpriyatie Kara Altyn CJSC is one of the examples. Thermal methods are considered as the most effective technologies for deposits with high-viscosity oil. According to the results of laboratory study of various variants of thermal methods and geological and hydrodynamic modeling, the steam-cyclic method of development was determined as the most effective at the Akan field.
