The objective of this work was to investigate the conceptions that justify the practice of teachers in the teaching of the English Language in the elementary education in the schools of Guarulhos from the perspective of the teachers themselves. A questionnaire applied to 72 teachers with 15 questions was analyzed. We also present the policy of continuous training of the Municipal Education Department for teachers in this area. Through this work we could verify that the Municipal Secretary of Education needs to review the working conditions of the teachers of English because the lack of teaching material impairs the teaching-learning of the language; one hour of English class per week is little time to develop meaningful work; shared teachin...
