This article reflects on issues that mark some of the contradictions of capitalism in Brazilian School Education. As a result of this there is a dualism with regard to the provision of school education. We have two school models, one focused on the social acceptance of the lower social classes and that does not effectively enable a comprehensive training of the subjects, and another based on knowledge, aimed at serving the wealthier social classes. By means of a literature review, the discussions presented here are about the official discourses of State.
