Abstract: The Thoughts of Muhammad Iqbal and Its Influences on Law Reform in Islam. Muhammad Iqbalideas, especially in the renewal of Islamic Law in India, are heavily influenced by the social dynamics that occur among the people of Europe. Iqbal believes that ijtihad is the sole source to develop Islamic law which refers to the interests and the progress of the people. According to his understanding, the Qur’an and the Hadith as sources of ethics are able to adopt the dynamics of times. The Muslims, therefore, should be able to understand wholy and deeply the messages of the Qur’an and hadith in order to find a solution to social problems.
