(FR) L'article est un essai de clarification des relations entre modèles et mécanismes économiques. Ces derniers se réfèrent à des processus et des interactions de nature causale. Interviennent-ils dans les modèles? Il faut distinguer les modèles comme entités construites de nature non-linguistique et les modèles au sens habituel de systèmes formalisés de définitions et de relations mathématiques. Les seconds sont interprétés comme visant à caractériser ou à décrire partiellement les premiers. En conséquence, l'absence dans beaucoup de modèles formalisés de toute référence explicite à des mécanismes en termes de processus ne signifie pas qu'ils ne jouent pas un rôle essentiel dans les modèles non-linguistiques que ces modèles formels décriv...
