Abstract Background This multi-center, cross-sectional study intended to explore the prevalence and risk factors of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods Patients who met the PCOS Rotterdam diagnostic criteria were enrolled in 6 centers in China, and age-matched healthy volunteers were also recruited. Data were collected including medical history, physical characteristics, and blood tests (liver function, blood lipids, blood glucose and insulin, sex hormones, etc.).
