The separation of bio-suspensions, such as blood, is of great interest for many biomedical applications, such as the extraction of leucocytes from whole blood, the laboratory analysis of specific cells or a mixed cell suspensions from bioreactors or the preparation of cellular products for cellbased therapy. In particular, mechanical separation processes have been established for the rapid separation of biosuspensions.
