We analyze the Project Management Institute’s body of knowledge guide in its portrayal of lessons learned in the knowledge areas. Then, we introduce readers to situated learning theory as a broader lens with which to examine lessons learned because project learning has formal, informal, self-directed, collective, and social dimensions and practices
