827-833Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to currently available drugs is a major source of worry for researchers. Antibiotic treatment is insufficient and ineffective against many bacteria and fungi as a result of antimicrobial resistance. Novel antimicrobial drugs that can successfully combat microbial resistance are urgently needed. In order to assess their antimicrobial activity, furan-based thiazolidinone and pyrimidine scaffolds (8a–o) have been developed and synthesized.
