ROLUL FEMEILOR ÎN DOMENIUL APĂRĂRII ȘI SECURITĂȚII. ARC PESTE TIMP ȘI PERSPECTIVE DE VIITOR

The issue of women's role in security and defense is a topic that has gained increased prominence on the international agenda. This dynamic is the result of some realities generated by the evolution of the military construct, the diversification of the tasks and missions of the army, the resettlement of the strategic environment, as well as the changes in the typology of threats and challenges to security. Starting with the assumption that the rise of women in the army is an irreversible phenomenon, this study seeks to analyze how and in what ways the roles and missions assumed by women in the military have been reshaped, to present the major efforts developed at international level to allow for better representation and new career opportunities for women in the military, and to recognize the outstanding contribution made by many women throughout history during both war and peacetime. Another important area of analysis is evaluating the current state of progress, the achievements and challenges in developing a national framework that promotes and supports equal and balanced access for women and men at all hierarchical levels, whether military or civilian personnel, in leadership or executive positions, in full accordance with performance-based selection procedures
