Mathematical models are available for the exposure assessment of compounds in consumer products. The computer program CONSEXPO is used for the calculations. Since the huge number of consumer products does not allow exposure assessment of every product separately, a limited number of main categories containing similar products are defined. Paint, biocides, cosmetics and floor covering are examples of main categories. The information on each main category is described in a fact sheet. this fact sheet supplies information on the use of cosmetics by consumers.
