The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment requested RIVM to investigate the standardisation of individual monitoring for occupational exposures to ionising radiation. Law lays down the assessment of the effective or equivalent dose of exposed workers. According to the objective of this study a summary is provided of possibilities to relate the monitoring results to the effective dose and its registration in the National Dose Registration and Information System (NDRIS). Thus the possibility is created for the data registered in NDRIS to be an accurate feasible representation of the actually received (effective) dose.
