Heavy precipitation at Kobutsu, Oseto-cho in the Nagasaki event on 23 july 1982 was examined at an interval of one minute. (1) The extremes of precipitation at this observation site can be summarized as follows : 6.5mm in one minute 47.5mm in 10 minutes 85.0mm in 20 minutes 112.5mm in 30 minutes 184.0mm in one hour (2) The amount of rainfall changed very markedly in every minute even in very strong 10-minute precipitations of 42mm and 43mm. (3) A very strong precipitation which brought more than 4.5mm in every minute continued for seven minutes and this strongest rainfall in all the time made an extreme of 37.0mm in seven minutes
