The volcanic disaster of the Mt.Fugen in Unzen rendered severe bad effects on the local economy in commerce. Sightseeing tours and school excursions of Shimabara area decreased seriously during eruption. Local governments made efforts to call back tours and formed promotion plans which consist of tourist development using the volcano. In this paper, damage of the tourist business caused by volcanic disaster of Mt.Fugen in Unzen and its comeback plan are investigated and discussed by using statistical data. A questionnaire survey was undertaken to study the opinion and consciousness about tourist development plans. The results are discussed and some suggestions are presented
