In this report, the characteristics of the environmental management system at universities, in which students participated, were analyzed by comparing the case examples of Kyoto Seika University, Shinshu University, Chiba University of Commerce, and Chiba University. These universities applied for the "Support Program for Distinctive University Education" of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and were adopted in the theme of EMS. It was found that each of them showed ingenuity in various ways, especially in how students were positioned in EMS, how to collaborate with a student organization, or bow to make use of a curriculum, as an organization with the purpose of educationresearch
