The International Association for the Study of Pain has defined pain as an unpleasant sensory and emotional sensation caused by tissue damage or damage risk, or related to such a damage.Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the pre- and postoperative pain in neurosurgical patients. The following were assessed: 1) level of pain intensity in a patient before and after an operation, 2) frequency of occurrence of pain in a patient before and after an operation, and 3) influence of pain on functional efficiency of a patient before and after an operation.Material and method.
