Exercise and energy availability independently impact rates of skeletal muscle protein synthesis. To date, no investigations have explored the concurrent effect of endurance exercise and energy deprivation on mixed skeletal muscle protein synthesis (MPS) or associated intracellular signaling proteins (ISPs) in humans.^ Purpose.
