Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda patienter med Covid-19 : En allmän litteraturöversikt

Background: In December 2019, the virus infection Covid-19 was discovered. The virus's spread and its high transmission rate hit the world and healthcare hard, eventually resulting in its recognition as a global pandemic. Previous research showed that patients experienced both fear and uncertainty about the virus and loneliness while being cared for in isolation. Nurses bore the primary responsibility for the care of patients, and during the pandemic, nurses played a significant role during patients' hospitalization. Purpose: The purpose was to provide an overview of nurses' experiences in caring for patients with Covid-19. Method: A general literature review where eleven nursing articles were examined. Results: Four main themes were identified. Under the theme of organizational changes, nurses experienced uncertainty and concern about being moved between different departments at short notice. Under the theme of challenges in using protective equipment, the physical and psychological strain of protective equipment on nurses was revealed. Under the theme of dealing with fear and lack of knowledge, nurses experienced fear of transmitting the infection to family members. Under the theme of being personally affected,nurses experienced anxiety while caring for patients with Covid-19. Conclusions: Nurses experienced anxiety, concern, and fear of Covid-19, which in turn affected the nursing care provided to patients hospitalized in the hospital
