The Lunns Rd Area in Upper Riccarton, Christchurch, was chosen for the study. This site comprises 36 hectares of industrial zoned land in Paparua County. Approximately half of the 36 ha has been developed for industry, the remaining land is in agricultural use. The site offered the opportunity to coordinate a number of different industries, ranging from warehousing to heavy engineering. None of the industries are very large, but they are typical of New Zealand Manufacturing Industries in a suburban location. The objectives of the brief were: I.
