The present thesis briefly describes survey technique, and certain data which bear on the soundness of the method of approach have been analysed. The results of wool survey work on a number of Canterbury farms covering observations of several field workers have been collated and presented in tabular and graphic form. Notes on soil, climate, pasture and other general information have been collected and included as a background to the wool data, and an endeavour is made to assess the usefulness and limitations of the technique in providing information of direct value to the farmer. Finally, possible modifications of the technique are discussed with a view to obtaining additional or more useful informatio
