This research presents findings based on the reflection of the two authors on the use of Turnitin for online marking for their own practice and the adoption journey of fellow lecturers post a departmental workshop. Specifically, this research examines benefits of marking using Turnitin for teaching staff and the support required for lecturers throughout their adoption journey of the software. The results indicate that Turnitin can be used effectively for marking if teaching staff are properly supported while learning to use the GradeMark feature. Online marking benefits staff as marking by multiple lecturers is easier, more consistent as well as reducing the need for physical presence and admin time for teaching staff.
