Study of some of the factors involved in the site planning of schools : with an analysis of the existing approach in New Zealand and particular reference to the development of Timaru Intermediate School

Accompanying plans (1-8) have been scanned separately.This has been acclaimed by many as the Age of Education. While some interesting and important changes have evolved with regard to the school curriculum, the environment has been largely neglected. This is reflected both in the paucity of adequate school planning and in community interaction. Planning must suggest an appropriate comprehensive physical form for an educational environment that unites all elements involved into a single entity. Allowance must be made within the entity for change and adjustment. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to: 1. Put into perspective the school's environment in the education process. 2. Provide material for future use in school planning
