Land structure and access to productive assets in southern Brazil: a study based on the 2017 agricultural census

This article aimed to understand whether a greater or lesser availability of land per establishment interfere in their socio-productive insertion, as well as to understand the relationship between the establishment's area size and its demand for goods and services from other sectors. To this end, the article was dedicated to analyzing information provided by the 2017 Agricultural Census, carried out by the IBGE. The socio-spatial focus for the study was the Southern Region of Brazil. It was found that farmers who own a low volume of land are doubly harmed, firstly, because they do not have the land and other natural resources associated with it at their disposal, and secondly, because they have access to goods and services necessary for the development of their activities hampered.O presente artigo teve como objetivo entender se uma maior ou menor disponibilidade de terras por estabelecimento ainda é capaz de interferir em sua inserção socioprodutiva, bem como, compreender a relação entre tamanho de área do estabelecimento e sua demanda por bens e serviços de outros setores. Para tanto, o artigo se dedicou a analisar informações disponibilizadas pelo Censo Agropecuário de 2017, realizado pelo IBGE. O recorte socioespacial para o estudo foi a Região Sul do Brasil. Foi possível constatar que os agricultores com baixo volume de terras são duplamente prejudicados, primeiramente, por não terem a sua disposição a terra e os outros recursos naturais a ela associados, e em segundo lugar, por terem o acesso à bens e serviços necessários ao desenvolvimento de suas atividades dificultado.Fil: Mengel, Alex Alexandre.
