The article presents data on the causes, threats of preterm birth and early diagnosis and prediction of the risk of developing a threat of preterm birth in women with infections of the genitourinary system. Despite numerous scientific and practical studies, the frequency of preterm birth does not decrease, and in some countries even increases, which requires further comprehensive study and improvement of diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
