This thesis deals with the topic of content analysis of two series of German as a foreign language textbooks. These textbooks are used in full-time study at secondary school/Gymnasium. In the theoretical part I define the concept of language acquisition, foreign language teaching, vocabulary, language competence, The practical part is based on the method of content analysis. The aim is to establish a detailed analysis of textbooks for teaching German as a foreign language
