Product quality assurance in series production

This master’s thesis deals with the product quality assurance in series production. Focus of the thesis is on the process of product quality planning and approval process for a part under development. The thesis addresses the issue of initial process capability study, which is one of the production part approval process requirements. Main purpose of the thesis is a statistical analysis and subsequent evaluation of encapsulated coil production process, conducted using the DMAIC methodology. Findings of the analysis confirm significant influence of the input material on the observed parameter. Based on those findings, a change to the purchased part dimensions was proposed, with assumption of moving the process location to the centre of the specification limits and thus increasing the process capability and meeting the customer requirements to the part approval
