À la lumière de la récente production ethnographique sur les peuples indigènes arawá et de la recherche en écologie historique consacrée aux terres de l’interfluve Juruá-Purus, cet article propose une réflexion sur les poisons végétaux, de chasse et de pêche, à partir de la socialité, du chamanisme et des pratiques de fabrication du corps des peuples indigènes de cette région. Nous partons de l’auto-empoisonnement des Suruwaha pour le considérer comme un comme point de départ de l’analyse sur le langage de la physiologie des affects arawá qui exprime l’ambivalence ou l’instabilité catégorielle de certaines plantes.
