General overview of the work : To improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO₂, a stable and available catalyst, the optical absorption edge can be moved to longer wavelengths, or improve photoinduced charge carrier separation. Introducing additional materials to TiO₂ can do both. Notably, the added material should be accessible and abundant; carbon nanomaterials seemed to be good candidates for the task.
