APLICACIÓN DE NITRATO CÁLCICO SOBRE LA CONCENTRACIÓN DE SULFURO DE HIDRÓGENO (H2S) GENERADO EN LA ETAPA DE OXIDACIÓN DEL TRATAMIENTO DE AGUAS RESIDUALES.

The main objective of this research is the minimization of hydrogen sulfide produced in theoxidation stage of wastewater treatment through the application of calcium nitrate. Samples of theinfluent wastewater were taken to later apply the calcium nitrate concentration previouslyestablished through experimentation. Spectrophotometry was used to measure the hydrogensulfide concentrations of untreated samples ranging from 0.72 to 0.49 mg/L using the methyleneblue method, thus comparing the reduction that existed between the initial concentration and theconcentrations obtained with calcium nitrate under laboratory and field conditions. In addition tothe measurement of hydrogen sulfide, different physical-chemical tests were carried out. The pHvalues obtained were between 6.5 and 8.5, the variation of dissolved oxygen was monitored withresults ranging from 0.37 to 10.3 mg/L in untreated samples, while in samples with Ca(NO3)2 thevalues fluctuated between 0.37 and 22.3 mg/L, showing the increase in O2 levels in the samples,which corroborates the efficiency of the treatmentLa presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal la minimización de sulfuro de hidrógeno producido en la etapa de oxidación del tratamiento de aguas residuales por medio de la aplicación de nitrato cálcico. Se realizó la toma de muestras del agua residual del afluente para posteriormente aplicar la concentración de nitrato cálcico previamenteestablecida mediante experimentación, se utilizó espectrofotometría para medir las concentraciones de sulfuro de hidrógeno de muestras sin tratamiento que oscilaban entre 0.72 y 0.49 mg/L utilizando el método azul de metileno, de esta manera se comparó la reducción que existía entre la concentración inicial y las concentraciones obtenidas con nitrato cálcico en condiciones de laboratorio y campo. Además de la medición de sulfuro de hidrógeno se realizaron distintas pruebas físico químicas, se destacan valores obtenidos de pH entre 6.5 y 8.5, se monitoreó la variación de oxígeno disuelto con resultados que van de 0.37 a 10.3 mg/L en muestras sin tratamiento, mientras que en muestras con Ca(NO3)2los valores fluctuaban entre 0.37 a 22.3 mg/L evidenciando el aumento de los niveles de O2 en las muestras, lo que corrobora la eficiencia del tratamiento
