Case della Comunità and welfare

The pandemic has exposed the weaknesses of the Italian nation- al healthcare system. The NRRP envisages substantial invest- ments in the health system, allocating two billion euros for the construction of Case della Comunità, conceived as structures around which to reorganise territorial health care. This chapter aims to contextualise the Case della Comunità with- in community welfare and within previous experiences of the de- centralisation of primary care, and to address the guidelines in the draft Ministerial Decree on: ‘Models and standards for the development of territorial care in the national health service’
