Anàlisi del comportament de bigues de formigó armat reforçades amb FRCM vegetal sota càrregues de flexió cíclica

(English) Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) is a strengthening method that has been increasing its importance versus Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) due the lower cost and lower toxicity of its materials. The 3-stage behavior makes FRCM an interesting option when structures are subjected to non-static loads. For this reason, researchers have been characterising this strengthening system and they have applied it to structures as masonry or reinforced concrete. Its good compatibility with the substrate has been providing good results over the years. Society has raised awareness in the importance of the environment and the impact the industry has in it, affecting every industry. In strengthening of structures, it provoked an interest on the substitution of the fibers used in FRP and FRCM from synthetic to natural ones that could bear the loads required. Fibers like flax, sisal or hemp provided good results when high loads are applied, and other fibers as cotton are interesting for its potential elongation. Being natural fibers applied to a fresh mortar matrix, they can be deteriorated due the elevated pH of the matrix, therefore a coating was needed. The most common ones are epoxy resin, polyester resin or vinyl, that not only protects the fiber, but also increases its mechanical properties. Nowadays, there is also research regarding the coatings applied to the strengthening systems, using tree’s resins or beeswax. In this doctoral thesis, it is proposed the application of vegetal FRCM to reinforced concrete beams subjected to cyclic bending loads. First, the mechanical characterization of the hemp or cotton FRCM is performed in all the stages: uncoated/coated threads mechanical properties, compatibility between the coating and the matrix, mesh mechanical properties and finally FRCM mechanical properties. Two synthetic and two natural resins are used in the characterization to choose two for the big format experimental campaign. After seeing the bad compatibility between the natural resin and the matrix, it was decided to continue the research with the epoxy and polyester resin. The interaction between the strengthening system and the substrate is performed through adapting the normative that regulates the adherence between the reinforcing stell bars and the concrete, determining the failure mode according to the fibre. 3m length reinforced concrete beams are used to perform the bending test. Before the testing a modal analysis is performed pre and post strengthening to see the impact of the strengthening system on the natural mode’s frequencies of the beams. Increasing the first bending mode, but decreasing the first torsion one. Finally, the bending test is performed. A static one for the control beams and a cyclic one for the reinforced ones. In the cyclic, the displacement of the actuator was increased progressively. As highlights, the reinforced beams increase the maximum load they can bear and the cotton-FRCM strengthened beams absorb enough energy to avoid the traction armour failure and avoiding a total collapse of the structure. Also, a numerical model simulation is proposed to simulate the behaviour of strengthened beams under this type of loads. It has been calibrated using the control and epoxy-coated FRCM achieving good approximation. To validate it, the properties of the mesh were substituted with the polyester ones instead of the epoxy ones, but the accuracy achieved for epoxy ones were not achieved.(Català) Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) és un mètode de reforç d'estructures que ha anat agafant protagonisme vers el Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP), degut al seu baix cost i la toxicitat menor dels seus materials. El seu comportament en tres etapes el fa interessant sobre tot el situacions on les càrregues no són estàtiques. Per aquest motiu molts investigadors han caracteritzat aquest tipus de reforç i l'han aplicat a estructures tals com l'obra de fábrica o les estructures de formigó sota diversos esforços. La seva compatibilitat de la matriu amb el substrat ha donat bons resultats al llarg dels anys de recerca. El repte de la societat per un món més sostenible afecta a tots els àmbits de la industria, i en aquest en concret, als materials compostos, ha provocat que hi hagi un interés en substituir els materials per altres d'origen més natural o impacte ambiental més baix. Per aquest motiu les fibres de reforç de tant els FRP com els FRCM van començar a substituir-se per veure si altres d'origen natural podien suportar les sol·licitacions a les que les exposaven. Fibres com el lli, el sisal o el cànem van donar bons resultats amb càrregues elevades i altres fibres com el cotó són interessants degut al seu potencial de deformació. Al ser fibres d'origen natural aplicades a una matriu de morter fresc, aquestes poden ser deteriorades degut a l'elevat pH del morter, de manera que es va començar a recobrir-les. Els recobriments més utilitzats són la resina epoxi, resina de poliéster o la de vinil, que no només protegeixen les fibres, sino que també milloren les propietats mecàniques. Avui en dia, també hi ha recerca en l'àmbit dels recobriments, utilitzant altres tipus com poden ser les resines d'arbres i arbustos o cera d'abella. A aquesta tesi doctoral es planteja l'aplicació de FRCM de fibres vegetals a bigues de formigó armat sotmeses a càrregues de flexió cíclica. En primer lloc es caracteriza mecànicament el FRCM de cotó o cànem en totes les seves etapes: Propietats del fil sense i amb recobriment, compatibilitat entre el fil i la matriu, propietats de la malla i finalment propietats del FRCM. S'utilitzen dues resines d'origen sintètic i dues d'origen vegetal fins arribar a seleccionar dues per la campanya experimental de gran format. Després de veure la baixa compatibilitat entre els fils sense recobrir o recoberts amb resines naturals i la matriu de morter, aquestes queden descartades i es procedeix a aprofundir en la recerca utilitzant els recobriments de resina epoxi i resina de poliéster. Es caracteritza la interacció entre el reforç de FRCM amb el substrat de formigó a través de l'adaptació de la normativa que regula l'assaig d'adherència entre barres d'armadura i formigó, Determinant els diferents modes de fallada segons la fibra de la que està feta la malla. S'utilitzen bigues de 3m per l'assaig a flexió. Aquestes són sotmeses a un anàlisi modal pre i post reforç per veure l'impacte del mateix en les freqüències naturals de la biga. On augmenta lleugerament la primera flexió, però disminueix la primera torsió. Finalment s'assajen a flexió estàtica les bigues de control, i cíclica les reforçades augmentant progresivament el desplaçament de l'actuador. Com a resultats notables, les bigues suporten càrregues més elevades i les bigues reforçades amb FRCM de cotó, absorbeixen suficient energia per evitar el trencament de l'armadura de tracció a desplaçaments significatius i per tant evitant el col·lapse total. Per acabar, es proposa un model numèric que simuli el comportament de les bigues sotmeses a aquest tipus d'esforços. Calibrant-lo amb les bigues de control i les bigues amb malla recoberta d'epoxi, amb bones aproximacions. Per validar-lo, es van modificar únicament el paràmetres de les malles per les recobertes amb polièster, però no es va mantenir el nivell d'aproximació que les prèvies.Enginyeria mecànica, fluids i aeronàutic
