The core of this research is anthroponomastics concerned with English names that takes place especially in Duque de Caxias as well as in Belford Roxo, Nova Iguaçu, Magé and São João de Meriti, Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro . This ethnographic research was held in public and private schools in those cities at the very beginning of 2004 until 2007. It is largely concerned with lexicology i.e., the personal naming system dotted all over the whole Baixada Fluminense in order to observe how English proper names are presented to parents, why parents adopt them for their children.
