SOCIAL DYNAMICS IN CORPORATE MULTINATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS:A LOOK AT THE IMPACT BROUGHT ABOUT BY FOREIGN LABOR ON ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND ATMOSPHERE.

At the present time cultural diversity is a crucial question for managers of corporations that internationalize their operations, look to expand their markets or, for different reasons, keep a foreigner in their functional staff. To take a look at the impact created by an expatriate professional on the organizational culture and management as well as analyze the new corporate social dynamics in multinational environments are the objectives of this study. Based on a questionnaire submitted to foreigners who work in Brazil, specifically in the city of Rio de Janeiro, a collection of information concerning their perception of questions related to the characteristics of the intrinsic cultural diversity of the players (participants) in corporate environments, analysis of the data, and interpretation of the results, the author intends to determine if the contact among persons from different cultures, who possess distinct systems of representation, can trigger a satisfactory and pleasurable relationship in the organizational environment. It is expected that the conclusion of this study should spur managers to bolster creativity, promote interaction and assimilation of the diversity by adopting new multicultural management models that include Intercultural Education in their agendas.Universidade Federal FluminenseA diversidade cultural é hoje uma questão crucial para os gestores das corporações que se internacionalizam, das que pretendem expandir seus mercados ou daquelas que, por diferentes motivos, mantém um estrangeiro em seu quadro funcional. Lançar um olhar sobre o impacto gerado pelo profissional expatriado na cultura e na gestão organizacional, bem como analisar a nova dinâmica social corporativa nos ambientes multiculturais são objeto deste estudo. A partir da aplicação de um questionário a estrangeiros que trabalham no Brasil, especificamente na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, da coleta de informações a respeito de suas percepções sobre questões relacionadas às características intrínsecas da diversidade cultural entre os atores nos ambientes corporativos, da análise dos dados e do tratamento dos resultados, pretende-se identificar se o contato entre pessoas de culturas diferentes, possuidoras de sistemas de representações distintos pode deflagrar um convívio satisfatório e prazeroso no ambiente organizacional. Espera-se que a conclusão deste estudo contribua para que os gestores estimulem a criatividade, promovam a interação e a assimilação da diversidade, adotando novos modelos de gestão multicultural, incluindo a Educação Intercultural em suas agendas
