A recent systemic review and meta-analysis of the prevalence of common mental disorders around the world by Steel et al. revealed that approximately 1 in 5 respondents met the common criteria for a mental disorder and that 29.2% of respondents had experienced a common mental disorder at least once in their lifetimes. There was a continuous gender difference in the incidence of common mental diseases, with women having higher rates of mood and anxiety disorders and males having higher rates of drug use. The frequency of common mental diseases may also be impacted by geographical variety, according to studies
