Summary• The goal of the work was to study the absorption capacity of foam formed cellulose materials made in laboratory scale. • The effects of structure density, additives, fibre- and surfactant type on material absorption capacity, density and strength were investigated.• Low material density resulted increased absorption but had negative effect on strength.
