Abstract Background Egypt has witnessed elevated incidence rates of multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae infections in intensive care units (ICUs). The treatment of these infections is becoming more challenging whilst colistin-carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae is upsurging.
