In the scientific work, the features of the structure of the near-surface layer of high-speed steel R6M5, complex processing modified by the methods of the first ion-nitriding, ion alloying of the surface, and wear-resistant coating, its effect on the wear resistance of the tool during dry cutting of hard-to-cut chromium and its alloys are considered.
