Objectives: to describe the support of pain during physiological childbirth by midwives practicing global follow-up. To study the preparation for the pain of childbirth in antenatal care by midwives for physiological childbirth.Methods: this research is of a qualitative, descriptive and interpretative type. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, with eight midwives who had been practising glonbal monitoring for at least one year.Results: preparation plays a major role in midwives' management of the pain of physiological childbirth. This includes sharing knowledge about physiology in order to strengthen women's confidence, but also an exchange of fears, life history and patients' wishes.
