Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time

This lecture on Messiaen\u27s Quartet for the End of Time , delivered at Lawrence University on October 20, 2008, was designed for students and faculty in the college\u27s Freshman Studies program. Freshman Studies, a multidisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts, has been the cornerstone of the Lawrence curriculum for over fifty years. The lecturer, Cathy Kautsky, is a Professor of Music and chair of the keyboard department at Lawrence. Professor Kautsky holds a bachelor\u27s degree from the New England Conservatory, a master\u27s degree from The Juilliard School, and a doctoral degree in performance from the State University of New York at Stony Brook
