Global land and water limits to electrolytic hydrogen production using wind and solar resources

This repositories contains the following files: calculations.zip: scripts to produce the results of the paper saved in .csv format. Scripts should be run following the numerical order of the names. All results are derived for the reference scenario of hydrogen demand in 2050; plots.zip: scripts to reproduce the figures presented in the paper; demand_hydrogen_range.zip: folder containing three folders: upper: containing calculations and plots relative to upper scenario of hydrogen demand in 2050; lower: containing calculations and plots relative to lower scenario of hydrogen demand in 2050; combination: scripts to plot Figure 1 and Figure 2 with interval bars which combine the results for the lower and upper scenarios of hydrogen demand; Supporting Database.xlsx: database collecting spatially-explicit and country-specific data of the renewable potential and country-specific demand of hydrogen and electricity in 2020 and 2050
