This report aims to gauge France's fair share of the global response to the climate emergency, starting from the recognition that equity is important – in fact, necessary – for addressing climate change. In the first instance, the report focuses on mitigation, but acknowledges that an equitable approach to adaptation, loss and damage, just transitions and so forth is of course equally important. To that end, it also calculates what fraction of the global climate finance need could be argued to be France's fair share and provides an approach, and results, to gauge the amount of finances that would be required to fulfill this fair share.
