Potentials of ITC'S In Development of Dairy Sector

Dairy farming dominates the livestock sector and is a cardinal pillar of agriculture. Dairy production and agriculture are intertwined, each being dependent on the other, and both are crucial for overall food and nutritional security of the nation. Dairy is an integral part of livelihood activity for most of the farmers and help sustaining farm activity. Besides, it is supplementary and complementary to agriculture in the form of critical inputs, contributing to health and nutrition of the household, supplementing incomes, offering employment opportunities. Livestock contributes about 4.5 per cent to India’s GDP and 25.8 per cent towards total agriculture GDP. Dairying plays an important role in improving the nutritional status and has a sustainable employment generation potential (Anonymous, 2019)
