When integrating corporate cultures after Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) the conceptual approach is of central importance. This integrated approach should be selected before the actual integration takes place. Therefore it seems sensible to survey the existing approaches and their pros and cons. Such an overview is given in this article. The relevant concepts are presented, compared, and evaluated. Overall, there are useful concepts depending on the respective situation, but there is no universal approach that takes the cross-cultural background of the M&A transactions sufficiently into account
