Mentorship is the formal or informal relationship that empowers the less experienced professional with guidance from the more experienced professional. Mentorship can be used as a part of andragogy. This autoethnography presents my lessons about academic research mentoring, as a university teacher who supervised multiple theses in a master’s degree. I share some experiences of how I evolved as a research supervisor in more than 5 years and insights for more effective supervision of a new researcher
