Twenty three species of the family Muricidae, Rafinesque, 1815, from pliocene materials that outcrop to the NE of Estepona (Málaga province) are described in this paper. Also their abundance, dimensions and their relationships with the living contiguous species are presented. The fossil-bearing association in which the studied species are included would have originated from remobilization and accumulation of the fauna, together with detrital materials (conglomerates and sands), related with more or less channeling aqueous currents in the infralittoral zone of the occidental Mediterranean (Málaga coast) during the Pliocen
