This short presentation given at ISC2023 in Manchester, UK summarizes the findings from an IUPAC task force looking at how blockchain and distributed ledger technology is being applied along the scientific workflow - from hypothesis development through to publication. The talk also discusses the pros/cons of the technology, and provides a glimpse of how the technology is impacting the future of scientific research
