Operations Management in the New Normal

COVID-19 has changed the scheme of organizations in many ways, for good and bad. Nowadays, we find ourselves in a global economic deficiency and an uncertain future. It is obvious that COVID-19 has brought more questions than answers, as this pandemic is not only a health issue but a socio-economic one as well. Nonetheless, we want to demonstrate how this pandemic has positively affected operations management. There has been a shortage of goods and services since the beginning of COVID -19 and uncertainty and vulnerability have become part of our daily lives. However, all crises in many cases could turn into opportunities. Despite the loss of human lives, many executives are facing the challenges that a post-COVID world brings. Many companies had to change their systems and create innovative processes for their inventories, production, transportation, supply chain, logistics, quality, planning, strategies, distribution, forecasting, and competitiveness.
